Monarch Kitchen & Bath Clients Say it Best on Homestars

Choosing a company you can trust to renovate your home can often be a challenge for homeowners. As kitchen and bath designers for over 35 years, we understand that the best way to put your mind at ease is to let you read what our happy clients have to say and present you with the facts you need to make the decision that's right for you.

From Homestars.com:

My wife wanted her kitchen renovated and after asking around to friends who had had a kitchen renovation we decided to approach Monarch Kitchens to ask for a quote. All of the staff at Monarch kitchens made us feel welcome and took a lot of the stress out of such an intimidating project. Right from the start to the finish the renovation was done in an extremely professional manner. Most people have had scary stories of booking with various contractors who didn't keep their word. Monarch was not like that at all. In a world that says "Buyer Beware" Monarch was a very welcome exception. I can say without a doubt that Monarch has very high ethical values and stood by their word every step of the way. They were always on time, on budget and had excellent workmanship. 10 out of 10 stars to Monarch Kitchens and all of their staff. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone wanting professionals to help in home renovations.

We recently had our kitchen and powder room renovation completed by Monarch Kitchen and Bath. Our first meeting with Monarch was with Kevin, who came by the house to thoroughly reviewed the space and spent much time with us to discuss our vision for the powder room and kitchen renovation.

Kevin completed 2 design plan options and took the time to go over each of the plans with us. We visited their extensive showroom to make choices for flooring, cabinets, counter-tops, backsplash, and hardware. Kevin was very friendly, patient, and helpful throughout this process and we never felt rushed. He consistently kept us updated on costs in order to ensure we stayed within our budget.

For the most part, the work was completed as outlined on the schedule provided. We were always informed of any change in schedule. Everyone, including the plumbers and electricians, as well as the cabinet, flooring, counter-top, and tile installers were all very professional and addressed any questions and concerns we had in a timely manner. We are extremely happy with our beautiful new kitchen and powder room. Thank you to Kevin, Neil, and each and every member of the Monarch crew for all of your hard work and expertise. We would not hesitate to recommend Monarch to anyone looking to renovate their home.

BILD Awards Monarch Kitchen & Bath Centre with "Best Renovation Under $75,000"

Monarch president Neil Samson accepts the BILD award
with designer Janet Dawson.
On March 11, the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) recognized the top renovators and custom home builders in the GTA at the Renovation and Custom Home Awards.

Created in 1999, this annual program recognizes professional renovators for their professionalism, quality of work and industry leadership.

The Best Renovation Under $75,000 was awarded to Monarch Kitchen and Bath Centre. The renovation involved integrating the kitchen into a home's adjacent rooms to facilitate entertaining while maintaining its "eat in" functionality.

"Our clients wanted big things from their kitchen and we delivered," says Monarch designer Janet Dawson.

"We opened up the sight lines to the living and dining rooms, maintained the eat-in kitchen for five people, improved the flow for frequent entertaining of large groups, and improved the kitchen design with more counter space, drawers, storage and innovative accessories."

Renovating vs. Moving: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Results of a new survey out last week reveal some hard truths for home buyers in the Greater Toronto Area: sky-high prices that leave many residents unable to purchase low-rise housing such as detached, semi-detached and town homes.
From The Financial Post:
The Building Industry and Land Development Association said the average price of a new low-rise home in the GTA hit a record-high $785,800 in June, according to RealNet Canada Inc. Prices rose 15.5 per cent from a year ago. The average high-rise sold for $441,134, up just 1 per cent from a year ago.
If you’re a current homeowner weighing the pros and cons of moving, these figures might  be all it takes to convince you to renovate your home to suit your needs instead of moving.

Is moving the answer?
Whether you need more space to accommodate your growing family or your home’s current layout is posing mobility issues, renovating your current living space to adapt to your new lifestyle may make more sense.

Would the money you’ll have to spend on moving fees be better spent by putting it back into the home you know and love?

The cost of selling your home and moving is higher than you think.
The time and effort involved in preparing your home for sale is staggering. From cleaning the house and painting walls, to landscaping to grab some extra curb appeal, you’ll wonder why you’re doing all this work for someone else’s benefit. When you add in all the other costs − lawyers, movers, real estate agents, bank fees, taxes, disbursements, insurance and home inspections − it can add up to huge numbers.

Should you move?
Ultimately, it comes down to how you want to spend your money. If the cost of moving is just too great, putting the money you do have into your home is key for living happily and functioning effectively in your day-to-day life. But which elements of your home do you need to renovate to make this work?

“Now more than ever, our customers are opting to open their homes and remove the barriers that separate them from interacting efficiently with their families,” says Monarch designer Amanda Willson-Suppa.

From opening up your living space and creating a great room, to making your home more accessible for members of your family, Monarch designers are qualified to help you address the changing needs of your home.
